Artist's Statement - Padley Gorge
Padley Gorge is to the west of Sheffield in the UK on the Edge of the Peak District. The Gorge has a stream running through it with a quarry on the outside of it. The prevailing conditions are very wet, hence the trees and stone being covered with moss.
I first went to Padley Gorge in 2013. I have been back on two further occasions at the end of Autumn, trying to capture the last of the colour in the leaves before they fall. Each time - I've been slightly too late as most of the leaves had already dropped. But even so - what was left was lovely...
